Terms of Service – newslog
Last updated: December 11, 2025
Welcome to newslog, a service that organizes, summarizes, and compiles your newsletters and articles into a daily digest for easier reading.
By creating an account or using newslog, you agree to these Terms of Service.
⸻
1. Service Description
newslog provides you with a unique email address where you can receive newsletters, articles, and long-form content. The service:
• Processes content sent by you
• Generates summaries, indexes, and structured digests
• Delivers private EPUB/HTML/Obsidian files for your personal use
• Optionally serves as a gateway to "Send to Kindle"
The service is currently in an "Early Access" (Beta) phase. Features, reliability, and pricing models may evolve as we improve the platform.
newslog does not publish, redistribute, or share your content with third parties beyond the providers strictly necessary to operate the service.
⸻
2. Permitted Use
You may use newslog only to process content that you are legally entitled to receive. You agree not to:
• Forward paid or copyrighted newsletters to unauthorized individuals
• Redistribute processed content publicly
• Use newslog in a way that violates the rights or terms of the newsletter publishers
• Automate mass forwarding or abuse the service
⸻
3. Role of the Service
newslog acts as a technical processor, similar to an email client or read-it-later service. All content we process is handled on your behalf and exclusively for your personal use.
We claim no intellectual property rights over third-party content.
⸻
4. Third-Party Integrations (Kindle)
If you choose to use the "Send to Kindle" feature, you authorize newslog to email your compiled digests to your designated Kindle email address. You acknowledge that:
• This relies on Amazon's service and infrastructure
• You are responsible for authorizing newslog's sender address in your Amazon settings
⸻
5. Use of AI Providers
To generate summaries, highlights, and indexes, newslog uses trusted third-party Artificial Intelligence providers (such as OpenAI, Google, Anthropic, or equivalent). By using newslog, you consent to this processing.
We ensure that:
• Only the minimum necessary content is sent to AI models
• Data is securely transmitted
• AI providers are contractually prohibited from using your content to train their models
• Content is used solely to generate your personal summaries and digests
Disclaimer: AI-generated summaries and indexes are automated and may occasionally be inaccurate or hallucinate details. You should always verify critical information against the original source logic.
If you do not wish your content to be processed by AI providers, you may disable summaries (when available), though certain features may not function.
⸻
6. Service Availability
We aim to keep newslog reliable, but we cannot guarantee:
• Uninterrupted access
• Error-free operation
• Long-term storage of your digests or source emails
Features may be updated, added, or removed. We will notify users when changes are significant.
⸻
7. Account and Security
You are responsible for:
• Keeping your login credentials secure
• The content you send to your newslog address
• Ensuring you have the rights to receive and process that content
⸻
8. Privacy
Your data is handled according to our Privacy Policy, which is part of these Terms. We do not sell or share your data for advertising.
⸻
9. Intellectual Property
All third-party content remains the property of its creators. Summaries and transformations generated by newslog may be used by you for personal purposes.
⸻
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, newslog is not liable for:
• Issues arising from third-party content
• Inaccuracies or "hallucinations" in AI-generated summaries
• Failures in delivery to third-party services (e.g., Amazon Kindle)
• Accidental data loss
• Service interruptions
• Misuse of the service by users
⸻
11. Termination
You may delete your account at any time, which will remove your personal data and deactivate your newslog address.
⸻
12. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms occasionally. Significant updates will be communicated via email.
